From Pastor Peter 30-Aug-2013

Dear Grace Family,

Labor Day Weekend

As you know, Labor Day festivities take place this weekend in and around Newport & downtown Cincinnati.  The only change that I know will affect us at the times we're in and around the Levee for church is the garage parking rate increasing from $3-$5 before noon (and then going higher for the fireworks if you enter the garage after 12 noon).  There are no scheduled bridge closures that should affect your drive to or from church, but there's always the possibility of some traffic pattern changes or on-street parking prohibitions, so leave yourself some extra time when coming to church this weekend, and be sure to read parking signs carefully.

This Sunday

This Sunday is a Testimony Sunday.  We'll take a break from our series in Romans and let the church body do the preaching this weekend.  Come to hear what God is doing in the lives of others among us, and think about what you might share that would encourage us in the Lord and allow us to give him glory and praise with you.  We'll end our time together celebrating Communion, leaving our service with the glorious Gospel fresh on our minds and hearts as we spend that time remembering His propitiatory sacrifice for us.

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."  ~ 2 Cor. 5:21

Elders' Blog to your Inbox

Last week, the Elders published their first blog post about our plan to communicate more often and more effectively by starting a new blog.  Did you know you can get that delivered straight to your inbox just like any other email?  It's true, and very simple to subscribe.  Simply click HERE to go to the blog itself, and look in the lower right corner for a little tab that says "follow."  Click on it, enter your email address, and you're all set.  You'll receive blog posts from the Elders as soon as they're posted.

On that note, you can do the same with this blog, too!  We posted instructions how to do that a few weeks ago.  Click HERE for those instructions in case you missed it (again, very simple).

Silas is coming!  {:-D

At long last, our baby son is due to be delivered via c-section this weekend.  For that reason, I'll not be with you as I'll be taking care of Sarah & Silas in the hospital, and caring for them at home the following week.  But...I'll be posting plenty of pictures via my FacebookTwitter & Instagram, so feel free to keep an eye peeled for them there.  Thank you for praying for us, encouraging us, and looking forward to this special day with us for the past nine months.  We can't wait to meet the little guy, and to introduce you to him at church as soon as we can! :)

Love in Christ,

Pastor Peter
