Read-In Outreach Tonight!

(We received these sweet letters from the students at the last Read-In, thanking us for our ministry among them

God has afforded us the opportunity to serve children & parents from our community by facilitating a "Read-In" at Newport Intermediate School (one block south of the Levee).  Students and parents come back to the school on a weekday evening and come to the school cafeteria. We will serve pizza, read books, & engage students & parents in great conversations. Tonight we have another Read-In!  We hope that you’ll come with your Small Group, or come on your own, anytime from 5p-7p. It's a great chance to show the love of Christ to those in our community, praying God will bless our efforts to the praise of the glory of His grace.

Dear Grace Family,

Good Times on Easter!

What a joy it was to to celebrate Easter together last Sunday!  Almost 2,500 were part of our worship services as we celebrated our resurrected, ruling and reigning Savior Jesus Christ last week.  Praise God!  Check out this link with some helpful tips on how to best serve the guests God brought us.

Questions You've Always Wanted to Ask About The Bible

This is an interesting Sunday School class that you've set the agenda for by submitting interesting questions to be answered by a variety of different people.  Read more about it HERE, and consider joining us at 9 AM on Sunday in theater 2.

Baptism Sunday is coming (Sun, 04-May)

Sun, 04-May, is our next Baptism Sunday.  It's a great opportunity to celebrate the saving grace of God at work in His people's lives.  Perhaps that's you?  Have you been saved, but not yet publicly professed your faith in baptism?  Believe it or not, there's still time for you to participate with us.  See me at church on Sunday and I'll tell you everything you need to know, or shoot me an email to peterlaruffa[at]graceky[dot]org.

Where did Romans go?

We're taking another break from our Romans series to spend a bit of time in two more series, one of which we'll start on Sunday called "Things God Does Not Know."  Furrowed brow?  Click HERE for more details.  After that, we'll spend the Summer in a series on the Church that I'm also excited about (with some really great guest speakers, too).  Hope you're looking forward to it!

So much more to talk about, but this is long enough so I'll stop here.  Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

God bless,

Pastor Peter

Come to 'Taste of Grace'

Perhaps Grace Fellowship Church is entirely new to you, and our Newport Campus is pretty much your first exposure to Grace.
Well…then this is for you. {;-)
We’re calling it “Taste of Grace.” Right after church on this Sunday, July 27th, head downstairs to the Community Room in the Newport on the Levee Building (it’s on the Riverwalk Level – same level as the AMC ticket booth – opposite Gameworks). You’ll get to meet Pastor Peter, some other ministry leaders, and mingle with other newbies like you. We’ll even feed you lunch…fo’ free (can’t beat that).
It’s never too late to let us know you’re coming, so click here to RSVP and that will help us get a general headcount.
Got questions? Email MeganCurd@graceky.org, or call 859.371.7880.
Hope to see you there!

Dear Grace Family,

Easter Celebration on Sunday!

I missed being with you last week, but I'm really pumped to be back at Newport and to preach & lead our Easter Celebration service on Sunday.  I hope you are too!

The service will be a Family Worship Service, so bring the kiddies in with you (Nursery Ministry will still be offered for the tinys.)  One of the things I'm most excited about is calling the cherubs down to the first few rows and spending some time with them.  I've prepared a Gospel presentation for them that I hope is helpful as you celebrate Easter as a family.

Also, I have a few people on my mind that I'm going to make sure I invite to join us today.  I hope you do, too!  Think about it, pray about it, and then go do something about it by extending an invitation to join us on this special Sunday.

Baptism Celebration - Sun, 04-May @ Florence campus

Speaking of special Sundays, we have another one coming up in just a few weeks as we celebrate with our brothers & sisters who are publicly testifying to the grace of God by being baptized.  Have you been baptized?  If not, I hope you'd consider taking advantage of this opportunity to be part of this special service.  There's still time to get you the information you need, and answer any questions you have.  If you think you might be interested, let's talk.  Talk to me on Sunday, call the church office, or drop me an email to peterlaruffa[at]graceky[dot]org and we'll chat.  Hope to hear from you soon!

Looking forward to celebrating our risen Savior with you.  See you Sunday!

Love in Christ.

Dear Grace Family,

Why Is The Resurrection Such A Big Deal?

We don't celebrate everything miraculous in the life of Christ.  We don't have a "Walk on Water Wednesday" or "Feed the 5,000 Friday" or anything like that.  So...why celebrate the Resurrection?  What's the big deal?  I look forward to opening the Word with you this Sunday as we look together at 6 reasons why we'll celebrate the risen Christ on Easter Sunday.  While we'll look at a few different passages together, we'll spend the lion's share of our time working through 1 Cor. 15:12-19.  Consider reading through that chapter a few times over the weekend in preparation for our time together on Sunday.

#BeansAndRiceWeek Offering this Sunday!

Our family has enjoyed participating in #BeansAndRiceWeek this week!  This Sunday (13-Apr), bring in the money you saved as a result of eating cheaply this week.  Place it in the offering box, and we'll bless two local organizations with the monies we collected (be sure to write "beans & rice" on checks, or on envelopes if giving cash).  First time you're hearing anything about this?  No worries.  Click HERE for details, and know that it's not too late to participate!  I've spoken to several families who are doing something different for a variety of reasons, but still participating in the collection on Sunday (maybe they were on vacation this week so they're giving on Sunday, but eating cheaply another week...stuff like that).

Baptism Service - Sun, 04-May @ Florence Campus

On Sun, 04-May, we'll be having another Baptism Service as one big church family.  We'll gather together at the Florence Campus for this special service as we celebrate new life in Christ!  If you've never been baptized, this is for you.  Call the church office (859-371-7880) or shoot me an email to peterlaruffa[at]graceky[dot]org and I'll be happy to answer your questions and get you all the information you need.

I'm preaching this Sunday at the Florence campus.  You'll see me on the big screen this week, and I look forward to being with you once again on Easter Sunday.

Love in Christ,

Dear Grace Family,

#BeansAndRiceWeek starts Sunday!

Last week, I mentioned we're trying something new at GFC this year called #BeansAndRiceWeek, and that kicks off this Sunday!  The bottom line is this; eat beans & rice this week as often as you can instead of what you'd normally eat for that particular meal.  Save the money you would've spent on your normal groceries or eating out.  Next Sunday (13-Apr), we'll give you an opportunity to donate that money in a special offering.  We'll bless two local organizations with the monies we collected; LifeLine Ministries and Transitions, Inc.  We've created a #BeansAndRiceWeek hub on our website with details, shareable graphics (like the Facebook cover photo below), and recipes, so be sure to check it out HERE.  Hope you'll join us!

Elders' Forum This Sunday, 9 AM, Theater 2

I mentioned this last week, too.  It's a dialogue between the Elders and the body.  Get your questions answered, learn about some key initiatives that are in process, stuff like that.  Consider joining us before church this Sunday.  Hope to see you there.

Sermon this Sunday: "Don't Let Your Flesh Get The Upper Hand"

This Sunday, we'll spend one more week in Rom. 7:14-25.  Pastor Brad will show us how we can fight to stay spiritually alive even though the flesh works aggressively our love and passion for Christ.

Have a great weekend!

Love in Christ,

Pastor Peter
