Dear Grace Family,

Lunch in Sawyer Point Park after church This Sunday!

Hope you'll join me & my family at Sawyer Point after church!  Bring your own food or buy some grub after church.  Walk over the Purple People Bridge and hang a right.  There are picnic tables under the yellow bridge, near a great playground for the kiddies to enjoy.  If the tables are taken, we'll be somewhere between in the park between the Purple People Bridge & the Yellow Bridge (map is HERE).  On-street or pay parking available nearby if you prefer to drive.   Hope to see you there!

Guest Speaker: Dr. Heath Lambert

I'm looking forward to hearing Dr. Heath Lambert open God's Word for us on Sunday.  He'll be preaching on "The Church & Psychology," an important topic for our day & age, and a helpful reminder & explanation as to why biblical counseling is one of our "big rocks" at Grace Fellowship Church.  Pray for Dr. Lambert as he prepares himself to preach (and read more about him HERE, if you like).

VBS: Thanks for participating & helping!

Just from being around the building throughout the week, I could tell it was another great week of Vacation Bible School at our Florence campus.  Thanks so much for involving your kids, and a special thank you to those of you who served so diligently in a variety of ways to not just make it happen, but to do so in a way that was excellent, honoring to God, and a blessing to our church family and visitors from the community.  I can't wait to do something like that for our Newport community one day, and am VERY excited to know how our church family will be ready & able to serve if the Lord were to provide an opportunity like that for us.  Pray to that end!

Can't wait to be back with you on Sunday.  See you then!

Love in Christ,

Pastor Peter

PS: I hear you waved back last Sunday.  Sigh...presh.  {;-)

Dear Grace Family,

This Sunday: The Church & Her Impact on Culture

I'll miss being with you this Sunday as I'm preaching at our Florence campus.  The sermon is entitled “The Church & Her Impact on Culture.”  We’ve all heard the somewhat popular phrase “in the world, but not of it.”  Where does it come from? Is it biblical?  How are we to live in this world in a way that we have an God-honoring impact on others, without succumbing to the culture in which we live that grows more & more hostile to the things of God?  God’s word has answers that I trust He’ll give us as we worship together on Sunday.

Want to prepare yourself in the Word?  Read John 17, Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer, before coming to church on Sunday.  We’ll be spending a lot of time there together.

Lunch on the River after Church next Sun, 29-Jun

Our family will be packing lunch next Sunday, walking over the Purple People Bridge, and finding a nice place to enjoy some time together.  Last year, many of you joined us and we had a great time!  I hope you'll consider doing that again.  Nothing fancy...just bring food for you & yours, or buy it from somewhere nearby, and then take a quick walk or drive over the bridge to Sawyer Point.  Bring a ball & glove to play catch, or a frisbee, or whatever floats your boat.  Hope you'll hang out for a bit.

Have a great weekend!

Love in Christ,

Pastor Peter

Dear Grace Family,

Guest Preacher: Dr. Stuart Scott

This Sunday we're blessed to have Dr. Stuart Scott open the Word for us as he preaches a message entitled "The Church and Its Call to Men."  We asked Dr. Scott to tell us a bit about the message he's preaching, and here's what he said:
"God is definitely calling men to, by His strength, rise up in the church today. Just like in the days of Titus in Crete, God is calling men to step up and follow Jesus. While there were very few models and examples in Crete, the church is the place for men to be godly, and now is the time. God gives us practical instruction as well as the sound doctrine behind it to help us know what to do, why, and how. God, His Truth and His people are able to help you change and use you in other’s lives for His kingdom."
Want to prepare in the Word?  Read through Titus 2:1-14 over the weekend, and pray for our time worshiping together on Sunday.

"Hot Seat" Sunday School Class (like...for real this time)

Did you miss out on the Hot Seat Sunday School Class last week?  Actually...you didn't.  I was a week off, having not realized we had one more week of teaching (thanks, Dave Wernz, for doing a great job).  What does that mean?  Well, that means this Sunday and next (June 15 & 22), will be the next & last two classes, and they will be "open forums."  Bring questions or just come and listen in, and a panel of folks including myself, Mark McFadden, and those that taught in previous weeks will answer questions together off the cuff.  Hope you'll join us Sunday, 9 AM in theater 2.

Have a great weekend!

Dear Grace Family,

Our First Commissioning Service!

To say I'm excited would be an understatement.  This Sunday, we'll be commissioning Lewis & Megan Curd as they serve as an ambassador of the Gospel to International Students at Northern Kentucky University.  Think about it...we're a small, start-up, new branch of our church family tree.  How often do churches as young as ours get to pray for, celebrate, & send out a missionary when they're under two years old?!  What a blessing.  Look very much forward to this part of our worship service this Sunday.

Oh, and while we're talking about missions, don't forget about GoGlobal at the Florence campus this Monday!  Info is HERE.  Hope you'll join us.

"Hot Seat" Sunday School Class This Week & Next

We're winding down our "Questions You've Always Wanted to Ask About The Bible" class (phew, that's one long title).  If you've participated in it, you know it's been great.  The next & last two classes will be "open forums."  Bring questions or just come and listen in, and a panel of folks including myself, Mark McFadden, and those that taught in previous weeks will answer questions together off the cuff.  Personally, I love things like these.  No topic gets discussed in depth, but a wide range of issues are usually touched upon.  Join us Sunday, 9 AM in theater 2.

Sermon This Sunday

I'm looking forward to being back with you at church this Sunday, and hearing the next message in our series entitled "The Church and Her Message."  Want to prepare yourself in the Word?  Read Colossians 2.

See you then!

God bless,

Pastor Peter
